    Water sports
Martha’s Vineyard is a water sports paradise and you can indulge in kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, rafting, sailing, boating and many other exciting water sports. If the adventure sports are not your cup of tea, simply paddle in the shallow waters or learn some basic canoe skills with the help of experts.

    Biking
Bike through the challenging trails of Martha's Vineyard. Take the 20-miles route to Chilmark and Aquinnah. For occasional bikers, the easiest and flat route is Vineyard Haven to Oak Bluffs to Edgartown and back. This trail is about 25-miles round. The bikes are easily available on rent at a number of places on the island.

    Hiking
The tranquility of the island is best experienced, by the hiking through its meandering trails. Try this Aquinnah (Gay Head) and Lobsterville Loop to appreciate the rolling hills and the landscape that seems to resemble northern New England. You can also hike on Cedar Tree Neck or Long Point Wildlife Refuge Trailfor to soak in some spectacular views of the ecosystem. Manuel Correllus State Forest located at Edgartown with over 5,000 acres woodland, is also a trail that is worth trying out.

    Bird Watching
From casual observers to practicing ornithologists, people delight in the beauty and awe of birds that inhabit the island. Do not forget to wear insect repellent and comfortable shoes, and of course carrying your binoculars. The best time to view a large species of birds is morning, when most of the birds venture out in the open skies for search of food. You’ll be able to spot the European cuckoo, blackburnian warbler, magnolia warbler, bay-breasted warbler, Canada warbler and many more.
